Tranny or electrical problem?

hello
i need ur help
i have change my acura cl 3.2 tranny but it does not work fine...1st speed is good, 2nd speed is good, 3, 4 & 5th speed do not pass and MIL turn on and D5 flash....the scan tool shows P0780 (AT)

I think the transmission has 78k miles and is a friend mechanic who replaced. transmission worked fine on another acura but not for mine, I think I have an electrical problem or a problem with the Solenoid because third gear does not

anyone an idea?

I've moved this thread into 2G TL since you guys share the same transmission between the CL guys and could give more insight to the OP!

Transmission is not an easy fix. even the shop will have hard time to pinpoint the problem.

can you explain that again please

Your trans quit working,,so a buddy installed another trans that worked in a different car- but wont work in your car?
Is that correct?

Its holiday time in the USA so many peole are not online as much
You explain it better and we will try to help

Yes it may be a selenoid- I have read of that stopping the upper gears from working
Get under the car and start looking for loose wire or damaged wire

Does anyone know what this means - When i drive at a constant speed around 35mph with steady gas the tach will move up and down about 100rpms. Any help would be great. Thanks

got the car back and it did the same exact thing as before, jerked when shifting from 2-3-4 and also when down shifting. then the check engine light came on and the d5 started flashing.
