Timing Belt Mishap

In following the instructions on DIY Timing Belt for the 3.2 TL located here, we ran into the following situation:

The tab that the battery clamp was threaded through to release the tensioner snapped off.

Is there now any other way to release the tension to remove the timing belt or are we stuck?

You could carefully pry the belt off or cut it. I mean you don't need the old one, and the new tensioner comes compressed and has a release pin in it.

Just loosen the and take out one of the bolts to the tensioner and it will release tension. Then just take it off.
