the typical dealer rate is 700-900 for the belt and H2o pump replacement. Cheaper at independent mechanics

I wouldn't go to an independant dealer unless I knew they were using OEM Honda parts. I don't want some cheap ass Autozone timing belt on my car.

Its really not a difficult task. The single hardest part is getting the crank bolt off. If you buy the 30 dollar tool its very easy. It just takes time to get the cover bolts off.

(ive had mine on and off so many times doing the 6 speed conversion i could probably do it in under a hour now)

105 thousand miles
water pump/coolant, timing belt and tensioner, spark plugs (recommend NGK Platinum or Iridium 7 bucks each and worth it), possible valve adjustment- they may need a minor adjust- will help overall running and fuel injection

Considering its the first time the car gets much more than an oil change and a look-see with rotate the tires, and most sports cars get water pumps and more every 20 -30 k!!! just buy an rx7 and see what maitenance cost are

A good private shop using quality parts- may have better than OE water pump and brand name belts available to them.

As long as they have everything torn apart it's a great time to install a thermoblock intake manifold spacer and UR underdrive crank pulley
see Black Market for detail post

www.outlawengineering.com buy direct $100
www.unorthodoxracing.com
Acurazine vendor Excellerate carries the UR pulley, has great price and sells the right special belt for it too $180 + $45 I think

Adds about 10-15+ hp with both mods and can improve fuel economy- especially the spacer

Kris always laughs at 105- he went 150k before change

Two questions:

1. What time can I expect you?
2. What kind of beer do you want?

Yeah I'm in the boston area too, My 02 TL-S has 109mi on it. I was thinking about stretching my luck another year before i change the timing belt. Still thinking about it though, definately doing the tires, plugs, fluids, & other belts this month. Decisions, Decisions, lol.

Is it worthwhile to change the seal on the crankshaft as well or the seal will pretty last forever?
The Honda dealer close to my area charges 950+tax not include water pump and other parts that need to replace once they take the engine apart.

Do you need a front wheel bearing? If so, I have a brand new one I would like to sell. It's an OEM Honda bearing. PM me if you're interested.
