I have a 99TL with 112k miles on it. Yesterday while driving over a bumpy bridge, I noticed my check engine and TCS went on. Today, I had the codes read and I got "Torque converter clutch solenoid circuit". Is it time for the tranny to go? I read in some threads that only the solenoid kit needs replace, etc...

 

i got a code that said torque converter circuit malfunction. i dont know if its the same as your problem but it shouldnt be that hard to replace the solenoids.

check to make sure your connections are tight.
