Car doesn't stop accelerating!!!

Driving spiritly, While shifting from 2 to 3 at around 6-7k rpm... Car pulls hard, I let go of the throttle and it keeps going!!! Holding the brakes down the car is still stuck at 40mph till I slammed it on the ground and dumped the e-brakes. I quickly threw it into neutral (and it quickly rev'd up to redline) and turned the ignition off. I open the hood and the throttle seems to have fallen off the intake (supercharger install). So question is, What caused the car to accelerate automaticly? Will throwing the throttlebody back onto the intake solve the problem?

maybe when u were driving spiritly u hit a bump and the cables got loose and the throttle stayed at the position that it was in before u let of teh gas.

what do u mean my "throwing the throttlebody back onto the intake"?

i would say that if your throttle was sticking that putting the TB back on would fix the problem. Its kind of like saying I took the battery out and now the car wont start. Good Luck and keep us posted

I threw it back on and adjusted the throttlebody, hope it works well. And it wasnt the throttlebody that fell, I don't know what's it called, but there's only one other thing that sits next to the tb.

Always double check the mounting of aftermarket parts- and then check them again after a drive to make sure everything is still tight!

Critical bolts- paint a stripe across the bolt edge so you can see if it ever moves- becomes loose. You see that on parts under the car after the factory assembly tech verifies torque-a paint mark means its good to go

Well, I'm not sure what's the part called but, the thing that connects to the intake elbow didn't come with mounting parts... That's why it fell... I put a brick under it with some zipties... did it ghetto style.
