ticking

I have an 03 cl-s 6-speed with I/H/mufflers with 99,000 miles. I just purchased it a little while ago and I noticed at sometimes you can hear the valves ticking a little louder at times. I know at 105,000 miles its due for a valve adjustment but I never did that on my 99 TL and it had 135k when I sold it. Let me know what you think, thanks.

do the valve adjustment, i loved the car even more when i did it. same thing with a friends car. said that it pulls a lot harder. it all about how u maintain the car, and how u abuse it.

Maybe it's not your case but; that also happens when you're not using Premium gas. The low octane fuel made my 99 TL noisy a couple weeks ago.

You sure it's the valves and not the purge control solenoid? Common problem on our cars.

I have had a ticking sound as well, and it sounds like it is right behind the gauges, just on the other side of the firewall...and it is. It is the EVAP canister purge valve, and it looks like this.

It's in the middle of the pic, to the left of the fuse/relay box, and behind the brake fluid resorvior. If you hear ticking from this area, it is probably coming from that.
