Angry Suspension problem? ??

Havent been here for a while, and now I'm in trouble! My car is making a rattling noise when I go over bumps. Started a few weeks ago only when traveling with passengers and over larger bumps in the road . Now it's making this sound when I travel alone and whenever I drive over the smallest of bumps in the road. The sound is on the high pitch side. I think it's my shocks, but I'm hoping someone here might know what I'm talking about before I take it to my mechanic. Some of you who have helped me in the past know I'm not mechanically inclined. I would just like to know what you think so I can be better prepared to speak with my mechanic. Could it be my motor mounts? I know I had stress fractures, but nothing to worry much about. Maybe they are going? Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks! !

Hey Carmis, how many miles are presently on the car ? What if any suspension work have you or the previous owner done ? Does the noise come from the front or rear of the car ? What are the stress fractures that you mentioned of ? More info would really be helpful !!!!

Well, it has 107, 000 .i've had it since Febrary (it had 105, 000). I don't know of any suspension work done on it by previous owner. Sounds like it's coming from the drivers side, possibly the front, but you know, that's where I'm listening from. Hard to tell. My mechanic told me that he saw a little wear on the mounts, nothing to worry about just a couple of months ago. I had asked him to check, bhearingecause I had taken the thing for a quickie oil change at a Good year tire store (you know, $20 and 20 minutes) and they gave me a list of things that claimed had to be fixed. Of course they gave me a quote for all the things they found wrong with the car. My mechanic said it was all unessesary work. I really only started hearing the rattling when the car was carrying another 400lbs (heavy passengers). That's the only time I heard the noise. Now it's almost every time I drive.

What was on the "Goodyear" tire store's list ? So,your regular mechanic said everything on it was unnecessary ? ....well except maybe a little wear on the motor mounts, huh ? Was this the stress fractures ?

Hey Carmis......Recently, you mentioned hearing a rattling....high pitched noise, possibly from the front of the car when going over bumps. Personally, I'd take it to another shop due to the conflict of opinion and have them inspect all of the suspension components and look things over on a rack.

Things like the wheel bearings, ball joints, sway bar end links, and bushings should be checked. BTW, the front and side motor mounts probably need replaced. Has the 105k T-belt service been performed ?

I definitely have to do the tbelt. I know it was due at 105, 000. I failed to mention one thing. I always seem to think in worse case scenarios.my wife reminded me that I had aloose tail pipe. My mechanic had jimmy-rigged it a few months ago.i have to ask him to look at it again. I don't know why I didn't think about this in the first place. Like I said, I just figured it couldn't be something that simple. I'm going to have my guy look at it. Got to start allocating the funds for the tbelt and I might as well do the mounts in the same clip. Ill have him look at it this weekend and ill report back later. As always, I'm grateful for your help!

Yeah man, gotta admit....sometimes the women have a keener sense on certain things !

Save your money, buy the full T-belt kit and mounts online for less than $400 total, and then have your mechanic give ya a price on installation for everything. Make sure that he's familiar with Honda cars. Probably about $500 for labor ??? So, figure on needing close to $1000.
