Windshield Condensation

Recently acquired a 03 TL. I didn't know much about Acura but I have fallen in love with this car. Only problem that is that at night, even with the defrost off, I seem to have some leak by to the windshield defrost duct regardless of how the AC is set. This causes condensation on the bottom of the windshield and is especially annoying at night.

I don't even want to think of digging into the dash of this car. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Thanks,
Tom

I have seen this happen before

Does this only happen when its warm outside? if not you could have a small leak in your heater box, or perhaps a very small air leak at the bottom of your windshield allowing air to escape in to your car. And with a pin hole in your seal you might not be able to tell it, because of the "Foam Dam" that is between your dash and where the urethane sets.

Thanks for the reply, I live in Louisiana and it's always warm outside except for when it's hot outside.

There is cold air from the AC always blowing on the windshield. The condensation is on the outside of the windshield. I can even see the vent guide design transferred to the windshield. I've tried all modes of the AC/defrost control and it appears I have a continuous flow from the defrost.

I've also notice the defrost button has yellow lettering while all the other lettering on the other buttons is white. Is this correct?

This is normal, I get this too when I blast the A/C and it's hot/humid outside.

Make sure the Recirculate button is set to OFF. Also use the defrost button and make sure it turns on the AC it will eliminate that from happening.

Wish that last post was correct, unfortunately it is not, at least not on our 2004 TL. Tried all combinations with no change in results. I think this may be something we have to live with.
Any resolution to this problem?

It's a normal condition in hot, humid weather. It's just like a toilet tank sweating. Just use your wipers.
