Stereo Er-Er0

My stereo is ejecting the Cds and flashing this code. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, do you know how to fix? It's a 2002 TL and trying to sell it.

No they are originals. I even put a brand new one in and it did the same.

I had that issue when the odd burned CD-R but never for originals. It's the generic "can not read CD" error. It also happened to me when there was condensation on the CD.

But if it happens with every CD you have ... might have to get a new head unit.

It's Got To Be A Sw Bug!!!

Derrick:

Gracias for the feedback. I was afraid of that. Damaging the cd head in less than 4 years by playing MP3s? From what I've learned, this is a common and old problem in Acuras.

What bother's the s#$%^ out of me, considering that I've been a Honda-Acura fan, is that I ca not understand how a $30K car, an "ACURA", integrated such a poor quality product as part of their system design.

Lexus don't have that problem.

Frustrado !!

ErE0 message on 2002 TL CD changer

I have had the '02 TL from new and struggled with the problem of home burned CDs not playing reliably in the CD changer. Sony CDRs gave me the most promising results.

Recently the problem escalated to where the player would not play home burned CDRs OR store bought CDs! All resulted in EeE0 message on the display and the CD would be ejected.
I used the Memorex OptiDisc cleaning CD which is available at local stores for about $8.00 and after only ONE pass at cleaning the laser, the player now reads my home burned Sony CDRs as well as store bought CDs.
