Whenever I am cruising in second or third gear and let go of the gas, my RPM's suddenly drop below 1k and bounces back up to 1k. Is this something major that needs to be checked out? Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't. It's an 03 tl-s with 94k miles, no warranty.

 

A slipping trans is when your on the gas and it slips between shifts or cant hold the gear your in. RPM dropping like that is common.

 

Well, when it does that it feels like it's engine braking which is kinda weird while driving. o.o
