Should I be worried?

I drive a 2001 Acura Tl and this morning i was driving out of my driveway and at first i reversed to get on to the street then when i shifted my car to drive i wasnt able to move. When i pressed on the gas my car would just rev. I then switched to park and put it back to drive. This only happened once before this time. It is cold when i live in about -20 degree . Would that be a factor? is this something i should be worried about? Please help

You may have the early signs of trans failure. How many miles do you have? When was the last time you had the trans fluid changed?

This is exactly what my 01 TL did all of a sudden when leaving a restaurant on a Thursday...by Saturday I barely made it into the dealer for obvious trans failure.

this is what im afraid of. I have 97 555 miles on it. The original owner had the tranny recall done back in june 2007. Im not sure when the last transmission flush was. I bought the car at 93 000 miles and took it to acura for the major inspection and everythign was fine. Should i go get it done? Besides what has happened the car run perfectly fine.

Bring it to the dealer immediately. See if you might be able to get it good willed as you are over the time limit.

Even if he bought the car from a dealer of some sort, I'm sure there is a warranty.

It hasn't even been 5,000 miles yet.

Bring it to the dealer! Talk to the service MANAGER not writers, and explain what happened. You may get some goodwill assistance with them if they find it to be bad (which your symptoms are) read the trans problem thread.

They've all said what you need to do...got to the dealer you bought it from immediately. Is it certified? If it is, then go to an Acura dealer. Good luck!
