Shifter stuck in park

1st, search is not working, so sorry if this is an old question.

I had my tranny replaced about 1K ago, recently it has taken a few tries to get the car out of park. Yesterday it wouldn't come out at all, and now I have to ride around with a screw driver to press the shift lock overide everytime. I know that something wasn't hooked up right or not tightened up all the way when the new tranny was put in, so my question is, can I fix this myself easily or do I need to go back to the dealership. I would hate to take it back for something really simple that I could do myself. Any suggestions?

Transmission is probably under warranty, right? If so it should be free.

Update: Took it to the dealer, it wasn't the tranny, it was the brake switch under the brake pedal. Cost $165 to have it put in. Probably could have done this myself, but then would have had to pay for the loaner car.
So, if it happens to any of you guys, check the switch and replace it yourself for about $50. Lesson learned.
