rest at a low idle(shakey)
When i rev it will slow at 1000rpm then fall if about to shut off.then stay around 500rpm i took off maifold and cleaned ports as well as throttle and icv.Still same thing.Idle dont move around just stays at 500.sometime it take 2 , 3 time to start and feels shakey wen i get it to start.
on the egr cleaning- you removed the manifold from car and got the passage all the way thru the length-to the ports under egr valve-with a wire coat hanger?
and the single egr port into manifold system? it should have a smooth bore metal sleeve inserted (recall) in the port to reduce edges for exhaust crud to grab onto and clog
fully cleaned, the port on engine block side knocked the stuff off and vacuum out?
and IACV - removed out of TB and cleaned slit?
how did all those parts look?
all vac lines ckd for loose fit?- split end of tube at fitting etc
spark plug age and correct ngk?
ignition switch replaced? had a recall on them and tend to fail again
since you are in Ca you cant go to parts store --need to look in Regions section and find ziner near you who owns a scanner..I Hate Cars is in B-field and a major guru of TL
could have a bad coil from the sounds of it,
does the rpm jump -range?
often worth the 100 bucks at harbor freight tools for the obdi2 scanner, so you can troubleshoot at home
get the codes and we can point you in the correct direction

seafoam note: many are afraid to do the vac port method, so a good alternative- per seafoams tech rep on phone = buy 2- 16 ounce cans
Add 1 can to 8 gallons gas, thats just under half tank, and drive however you like.
trips of more than 30 minutes help it work even better,,heat and time are seafoams friend
next tank, drive down below half and add the other can
Still need to clean TB air plate, no method gets that besides direct action
that takes care of everything you want cleaned, just not instant intake valve and piston cleaning like vac port does- literally in seconds!
it gets all the vac port stuff and all the fuel system parts
clean injectors being very important, without any concerns of CEL, hot foot afterdrive, and all the other things required of vac port method,,
keeping it simple for the masses~

Its a little over 290,000 i no that alote i drive pretty good. Okay i did not do the hanger all they way through ill open manifold up again and do it. You said something about coil can cause that problem if that were the case i would i find out witch one it is.I will clean today and keep you up to date. And i couldnt thank you enough for the information.

the spark plug broke in half? so all the threaded part is still in there stuck?
no hex shaped part for the plug socket to grip?
or it broke in half vertically so half the threads are in the head and the other half in your hand?
if a spark plug socket wont get it out, you have to remove the cylinder head the remove it
plug was stuck- was it old,, or newer and just way too tight?
that can cause running probs
old plugs die

Not sure maby older and 1/4 of the thread is in my hand so. so should i just get another engine with lower mileage. What should i do im think more towards engine one of my friend said they will put it in.what does an used engine go for.should i get one off ebay
ck junkyards/auto dismantlers in your area
but any you buy will need a timing belt/ water pump job- adjust the valves etc
and still be unknown history of overheats
yours at 300, assuming kept up with oil changes and wp/tbelt replacements
should be fine inside, at 200 it looks new
but if you can find a 100-150kmiles engine for 500$ and 300-400 in parts to make everything trouble free, thats not a bad investment
tip for others changing plugs- spray wd or other penetrating lube into the plug area and let it sit for a while
to have one snap as you say- would lead me to suspect cross threaded at last install, or been in there so long that corrosive bonding took place
another great reason to use a little bit of plug anti sieze on install

you already had the manifold off- not much more to remove the entire head in question and have a local machine shop remove the plug
they may have to insert a new threaded section in the head, no big deal for them

well im tryan to take head off my self.so far i almost got it off.well be for i started taking engine apart i tryd using one of those easy stripp bits to stick down middle of pluge but it just broke off in there.Im taking picks so ill post them up if i fix it or i dont.I have a feeling im getting an engine at least ill get some practice on this one.
Idk if its possible for you now but maybe a flathead screwdriver and some good whacks on the top of that plug to make an indentation so you can turn it with the screwdriver might work
Show us some pics!
Show us some pics!
good condition? NOT!!
cyls 5 and 6, the center and right as shown in pic
are `steam cleaned clean`,,meaning there is water leakage between them- at the gasket
note the condition of the other piston with heavy carbon layer
and the head, see the 2 cleaner ones?
these pics are a good example of why seafoam or BG are important treatments
many think modern engines run clean,,not so~
clean = better combustion

go borrow a torque wrench from parts store, or buy one at harbor freight tools or sears
Torque on the head bolts is CRITICAL to the survival of that gasket
same for intake manifold and its gasket
Many head gaskets are a `crush type`- where they slightly compress with torque application, so its a one time use item
Never in my life have I reused a head gasket,,waaaaaaay too much hassle to do the job over
the head comes off- ck for flatness- new head gasket, new oil and new coolant
new spark plugs

well it rained and i was wipping it down maby thatz why is looked like that. I will be getting heads recerviced.as well getting internal realigned as well a head gasket kit. most likely i wont get it done till sat or sun put ill make sure to stick more piks up during process
or it could explain your overheat prob and poor running!
you wiped the head in a way to clean the upper portion of the 2 cyl in pic?
the pistons I could understand but..
all new gaskets etc,,good plan!
torque wrench purchase- do it!! 15-20 bucks harbor freight or 25 sears

lol you thought there were a lot of bolts just for the head!!
hope you learned to use parts boxes and keep bolts organized when there are different sizes/lengths used in some places
how many years did you drive with an overheat prob?
that will crack a head for sure

Ya ill be putting nu timing belt as well as nu water pump and replacing some of my hoses all new spark plugs. My coils on my engine are still good will be reusing those and when i get the engine i will clean inside manifold
