Resetting "Maintenance Required" light

Basically I started the engine w/ out the MAF plugged in. Threw a CEL. That went away after about 15 miles of driving. But now the Maintenance Required light flashes on engine startup. I want to clear this.

Called Acura -- $110 to do a full diagnosis on "their machine".
My friend mentioned something about taking it to AutoZone and they have a tool so you can reset your own engine codes.

Any ideas?

As for the Maint required light its in your manual on how to reset it as well.
It means nothing more than its time for a oil change (when properly reset) Its designed to come on full at 7500 miles.
With the car off,Press and hold the Trip and Reset light with 1 hand, while holding them BOTH in turn your key
to the RUN position (not start but run) and continue to hold them in till they turn off. It takes about 10 seconds.
If you turn the key and then press teh buttons in you will change the Outside Temp settings

Like stated before that light does NOTHING more than serve as a reminder to change your oil.
pretty soon it will be on full time. It blinks like that only to alert you that its coming close to time to change your oil.

the maintenance required light is set off by the odometer. This can be reset by borrowing a OBD tool at your local Schucks/Kragen store, its free.

Like what. Doing it the reverse way (like mentioned) will adjust the temp reading up or down just a few deg.

Does anyone read their owner's manual? When the light blinks, it's been 6000-miles since the last time it was reset. When it goes solid, it's been 7500-miles since it was last reset.

I have a question. Does the maintenance required light ever cause the following for you guys:

Resetting of the radio. I had to put in the code again and all the presets were reset.
When the light blinks, it turns my radio and everything else off pretty much for a couple of seconds. It drives fine during this time, but the gauges for everything hits zero. Kinda scary when I'm driving. LMK.

Instead of flashing 5 or 6 times upon start up, mine is on permanently. I guess I should have reset it when it was flashing. I was just too lazy. You think I can still reset it using the method posted above? Or is it time to plug her up to get diagnosed. Oil was changed a month ago and I doubt there is really anything wrong w/ the car...

Yes, you can reset it. It's just a counter from the last time it was reset.

As described above:

When the light blinks, it's been 6000-miles since the last time it was reset. When it goes solid, it's been 7500-miles since it was last reset.
