Replacing rear struts
Replacing rear struts
One of my rear struts is blown. They are original, with over 325k miles on them, so no big deal. I don't plan on keeping the car that much longer, but want to know what are the other critical pieces to replace while I'm doing the rear struts. Any other suggested parts? Nothing else appears to be broken, although I'm sure plenty of parts are worn. I'm not looking to make the car "like new", simply looking to take care of the critical items. Thanks in advance for your suggestions.
I'd replace the struts (both sides) the strut hat's rubber, and have the end links ready if you haven't replaced them recently (they will be very difficult to get off).
If this sounds like too much and you're not planning on keeping the car much longer, why not leave it as is and inform your buyer of the issue so that they can decided how extensive of a repair they want to perform?
Frankly, as a buyer I would appreciate this approach much more as it would keep me from having to guess which parts were or were not replaced by the previous owner.

"not much longer" is relative, as I've had the car since 2006 and 29k miles. :-) I'd like to keep it going another 2 years or so. I'll consider end links (all rear suspension parts are original). Thanks for the reply. Any other suggestions are appreciated.
