replacing rear calipers today, is there a write-up to follow?

our 99 3.2TL rear calipers have finally seized (rubber seals were damaged a while back and just waited them out). I have a pair of remanufactured calipers, but I was wondering if there is a DIY to follow? I can turn a wrench but never replaced calipers before. Thanks for any help

Rob

Nothing hard to doing in, basically remove the brake line, remove the 2 bolts holding it on. . You will have to bleed the brakes afterwards though.

Stick a rubber vacuum cap over the open brake line (after you unsrew it from the caliper)- this will keep more fluid in the line and less on your floor. See main 2ndg gen forum page for rear brake tips I posted yesterday, a big mallet will help!

hey, sorry for the late reply, I did not get an email notification about a reply..

The two main bolts holding the caliper to the frame were a little tought to get out. Just make sure to have a can of PB Blaster and a hammer on hand to knock the bolts loose. The rest is simple, just have someone help in bleeding the brakes out when they are back together. Overall it was about 30 minutes a side
