Replace low beam HIDs w/o removing bumper?

I have a 2000 TL - Driver's side low beam went out - started turning
purple for a couple of days before failing so probably the bulb.

I ordered D2C-5000 OEM replacements from Excelerate - should be here in a day or so.

Can I do this W/O removing the bumper?

Does the #20 Torx security driver have to be a certain size/angle to work
right because of clearance issues.

Couldn't find DIY for doing this w/o removing bumper which I would
really like to avoid so any tips about driver's side replacement would be appreciated. Passenger side looks easy but driver's side looks to have obstacles I might have to move.

Tips appreaciated- thanks

I thought our cars were D2R or something like that. Anyway if its just the bulb your changing you dont need to take out the bumper, ive never done it but when my dad replaced the bulb a couple years ago when i like just had a license all he did was access the low beam headlight from the hood.

See the DIY in the Official 2nd Gen TL DIY Thread:

You absolutely don't need to remove the bumper. You will need to pull a fluid reservoir out of the way on the passenger side and some plastic duct pieces on the driver side. But no tools are needed for those steps.

There are no special size or shape requirements for the Tamper-proof Torx.

Don't touch the bulbs without wearing gloves as the oil from your skin can cause them to fail early.

It's all pretty easy if you take your time.

One of my HIDs just went out as well...Went pink for a few days and now it's out completely. I'm hoping it's just the bulb...Sounds like a nightmare if it's anything else.

Do you know for sure if the oem bulbs are 5000s?

D2C are the universal bulb. If it went pink then out odds are its the bulb. Easiest way to find out take the working bulb and put it in the side that stopped, if it lights up fine you know its the bulb
