Rear Window - Half Way Up - Help!

Today, I rolled my passenger rear window down...

When I tried to roll it back it, it would only go half way...

I can hear a motor sound when trying to activate it... but it just won't go back up...

I have even pulled on it to try and get it to come all the way up.... No luck...

I took the door panel off, but can't see anything wrong.

Just looking for a little help!

Dug

Hey Cdugger, If your fuses are still ok and the motor is trying to run....it seems as though the door glass is hanging up on the interior channels. Take the door's inner panel off to get a better look at what's going on. The sliding track of the regulator may be binding and need to be lubed. Otherwise maybe the motor is about to die ?

Thanks for the feedback....

I have taken the door panel off and can't really see if it's hanging.

The motor seem's to be functioning, but it window won't go any further up than halfway, even if I pull the window up.

At this point I would be happy to just get the thing up all the way and then trouble shoot it from there...

What possibly could it be hung on and what am I looking for?

Many thanks!

Ok....

Motor appears to be operating...

I found the problem as to why the window wouldn't go higher than half way. This was due to the lower cable hooking on something. I freed that up.

Now that I have the window free and pulled all the way up, I see that there is a cable at the top which appears to not be connected to anything.

What must that cable be connected to and how do I do that?

the regulator is busted that is very common on those cars the cable rides on plasitic guides that wear off and break you are going to have to replace the whole regulator because there is no fixing it

And while you are waiting for the new regulator, you can take the door panel off again and wedge the window in the full up position with a well-placed stick of the right length
