Rear View Mirror

Hello just recently purchased and 2001 Acura Tl 3.2 and the auto dimming rear view mirror is bubbling just want to know if this mirror would work.

http://www.autoanything.com/mirrors/61A1522A0A0.aspx

Sadly the tranny is going on it but the dealer is fixing it for free.

We can't really tell if the mirror will work unless the mounting bracket is correct. there was a mirror mod thread that you can use a diff mirror with dimming and compass on it, using your existing mirror mounting bracket.

OP is too new to PM yet,
and you know better than to advertise on the threads
Use the black market- `private sales` threads to post and you can hook someone up with a good unit- thank you

many dealers- such as our sponsoring vendors- will cut you a deal near 75 dollars for a complete new unit.. with better internal stuff
the current mirror has a hazmat material and may explode in your car
bad scene~

there is a big thread on this subject 'rearview mirror exploded' it starts several years ago
so skip to the middle and end pages if you want info
but you already know what you need- a replacement

When mine quit auto dimming (often the first symptom) and then got the center oval,
I placed a large ziplock freezer (heavy duty) bag around the mirror- pulled it up and wrapped/taped excess at top so mirror was semi-useable- but hopefully will protect the interior if it explodes

disclosure- mine went a lonnnnnnng time with the bag on in and didnt blow up
I understand the ones with bubbles on the edge seem to be more prone to the disaster--my opinion not based on anything but reading here

note- retail is about $150 on the mirror, unless acura lowered it after the free replacement program from maker ended a couple years back
cool dealers have been hitting ziners up for about $75
New mirror contains improved materials.... according to rumor

caution dont buy used TL mirrors off the internet (from a trusted ziner would be ok)
the program with maker was an exchange- but many didnt send back the old one- instead selling it online to an unknowing person!
part arrives and you ask seller
Whats this on the face??
uh- sold as is- I dont know duhhhh

a used mirror will still have the old stuff in it- and is subject to failure

ck our dealers and see what the current price is- getting the improved model for a bit more is worth it in my opinion
