National or Timken are very good brands.. I prefer myself National Bearings.

Edit: With hub I guess you mean the whole bearing/hub assembly.

Better brands such as Timken have a quality proven track record, while generic aftermarket brands may cut corners on their product's build quality to keep the pricing down. However, if ya do your own work and keep the warranty paperwork, Duralast may save ya a few bucks.

Perfect just want to make sure that it is my wheel hub that is bad. A shop told me the passenger rear was bad, but I'm not sure if that was just them hustling me for more money. When I Drive I hear a loud drone the faster I go the louder it gets until I hit maybe 50 or 60 it becomes monotone. Weird thing is Ive had a bad creaking noise whdn braking as well from the Same wheel.

Safely support the car's rear and then by firmly holding the tire.....try pushing it in and out to check for any play or rocking. Spin the tire slowly by hand and listen for any inner sounds from bearing or brakes.

Thanks, ill look at it later today. Just pulling in to my driveway i notice that same tire where my hub is bad and whete that creak is coming from is a distinct brown/Orange color. That tire alone, which is a new tire bought at the same time as my other rear. Does that signify something?

The tire wouldn't have anything to do with the noise, but if ya see signs of rust on the tire......remove the tire and closer inspect the inner wheel hub.

just finally got my wheel hub changed. surely enough my bearing was in horrible shape. and my mysterious creaking noise is now gone! Anywho, for a decent tire stretch on my rears (I currently have 245/45r18) without a fender pull, would I be fine getting 215s for my rear?

you can run 215-18 with no clearance issues- plenty of room
235 need a small amount of dremel on the fender

based only on my 01, sitting decently low

what brand part did you go with, diy or shop, cost on each?
were the park brakes damaged as a result?

Well my brakes in the rear were going bad. It started off as a diy but a trusted mechanic decided to do it for real cheap so i let him. I only replaced the passenger rear. Duralast. Paid about 40 i believe at autozone
