Can anyone help I am having a misfire problem on my 01 acura tl, I kept getting misfire code p1399 but the car is not misfiring I got valve adjustment done I changed all the plugs and coil, I have no vacuum leaks but this code won't go away the car has only 176k miles does anyone ever experience this problem before and how did they fix this problem thanks if anyone have any solution to this issue

• Were there any other DTC's?
• Which brand coils did you replace it with?
• Did you read page 11-118 in the service manual? it describes different scenarios that would trigger the misfire, can you comment on anything there?

 

Thanks whitetiger for your quick response, I do not have a service manual but there are few other things I got done on the engine I had the valves adjusted, the coils I am using or ngk I had the egr valve port clean there is no other dtc on the car also the car is not misfiring the code just keeps popping up on the scanner for example when I clear the check engine light and starts the car the check engine light won't pop up until the car starts the second time

 

Just to clarify, did you have the P1399 before the valve adjustment, plugs and coil change or did it pop up after?

What specific spark plugs did you get?

Do you have a code scanner with "freeze frame"? It will tell you the conditions when the code was triggered.

 

I did the valve adjustment after the code came up the plugs and coil are all ngk ok I will check the free frame and see what's going on
