programming remote

Hello, can anyone help me with directions for programming a new remote. My old one broke and I purchased one on ebay. Thank you in advance for your help with this question.

Keyless entry Remote can be program by doing the following, you must program all remotes at the same time, else the remotes not included in the programming will not work.

Make sure the codes in the back of the new remote matches your old stock remote. Some key fob may look the same but won't work with each other. Be sure to have all Key fobs you want working with you when you do this.

1. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).

2 Within 1-4 seconds push the transmitter lock or the unlock button.

3 Within 1-4 seconds turn the ignition switch OFF

4 Within 1-4 seconds turn the ignition switch ON (II).

5 Within 1-4 seconds push the transmitter lock or the unlock buttin.

6. Within 1-4 seconds turn the ignition switch OFF.

7. Within 1-4 seconds turn the ignition switch ON (II).

8. Within 1-4 seconds push the transmitter lock or the unlock button.

9. Within 1-4 seconds turn the ignition switch OFF.

10. Within 1-4 seconds turn the ignition switch ON (II).

11. Within 1-4 seconds push the transmitter lock or the unlock button.

12. Confirm you can hear the sound on the door lock actuators. Within 1-4 seconds, push the transmittor lock or onlock button again.

13. Within 10 sec, aim the transmitters whos codes you want to store at the receiver, and press the transmitter lock or unlock buttons. Confirm that you can hear the sound of the door lock actuators after each transmitter code is stores. Make sure you program all transmitters you want working within 10 seconds of each other. Ones not included in this programming will no longer work.

14. Turn the ignition switch OFF, and pull out the key

15. Confirm proper operation with the new codes.

***make sure the serial number on the backs match.....Program at your own risk***

You should try again. Should be really easy. Take your laptop out to your car and go over the steps carefully or print it out or write it down.

And also, how would you go about de-programming a key fob?

I think if you go through the programming steps and NOT include the unwanted fob in the process, it'll be erased from the car's security system.

EDIT: I'm correct, see step 13 in the procedure shown in post #2.

No, it doesn't matter where you sit in the car. I sat in the driver side and did the programming right near the key ignition. It worked fine for me.

taking battery out, erases it all. so yes you need to reprogram it.

programming is a very fast step
have the remote in one hand, the key in the other
put it ignition
dont TURN ON THE CAR
just turn on the ac, ( how you would listen to radio roll windows down and such)

basically it will take a few steps to get it right
you have to do it very fast
turn up
press button
turn down
press button
turn up
press button
turn down press button

once you hear your car BEEP
take the key out
and try to lock the doors while in the car

not an acura, a mustang, but its basically SAME EXACT thing

:shakehead Changing the battery on our remotes does not erase anything. I've changed the battery several times on my remotes and they work the same every single time.
