Problems after collision
Ok so I know many of you are going to want to immediately jump on the "your tranny is shot" thread however it doesn't add up for me. The car was running fine with no lights on, then I had a light front end collision (shoved the rad into the engine, mangled the upper rad support, etc. But there was no major mechanical damage). The car sat for 3 months until I fixed it. Now upon first start up and test drive I have a flashing D5, tcs light is on as well. When I tried to drive it in D5 it doesn't shift into lower gears. It doesn't engage into sport shift. If I start in D1 and manually shift through the gears it runs great with no hesitation or slipping. I think it's very strange that the Trans would go bad over night. I'm thinking a sensor or electrical connection was damaged in the crash, but I'm not sure what to look for.
YOU fixed it? take it back to that guy!!! it will be something stupid as noted above
A sensor damaged or wire off, ck all the small ground wires
When the car is not sure what is wrong it throws multi dash lights and multiple error codes, ck the obvious, ck actual codes stored for free at parts store!
reset the ecu= clear the codes by pulling the CLOCK fuse on passenger side end of dash or foot kick panel- after 1 minute reinsert fuse fully
Battery is fully charged- not jump starting the car - correct?
