power locks only work when car is started.

Alright, I had my battery die in my 2000 tl a few weeks ago and have been faxing a ton of issues. but this one i can't seem to fix. When the car is running the power door locks work fine. the switches work on all 4 doors. when the car is off none of the switches work and i have to individually lock or unlock each door. pain in the ass . any ideas?

Does the "keyless entry" fob work ? How about when you put the main key into the driver's
side door lock.....does it energize all 4 door locks to work ?
Recheck all battery cable wiring connections, especially the ground.
Check fuse #9(7.5a) located in the driver's side fuse panel, fuse #13(7.5a) and fuse #6(20a) in the passenger panel. There's a relay also.

yupp. check the key fob see if the red light lights up as you press the button. if not take the battery out and replace it with the same exact type.

By manually do you mean hit the unlock button on the door, use the key in the door, or pull the lock up?

Sorry I never got back to this. In case anyone has the same issue I was referring to using the switch by the door handle. Turned out the problem was a burned out fuse. I don't remember which one it was. I think radio or something. It was also causing the dome light to not work, and the doors should all lock when you manually. Koch the driver's door

^^^What he said. There are way too many threads where a lot of people offer help, and the o.p. never returns.

Fuse position 13 clock back up was missing out of fuse block on passenger side dash 7.5a when I put a fuse back in, my clock works again, power locks work without key in ignition, my key chime sounds in car and I can manually lock all doors by locking driver door with key.
