My P.S pump making noise really bad when engine cold start. I've order the used one for $45 and plan to change it myself. How do you remove the top hose( metal one) and release P.S pulley belt?
Yes, I did reserch the prob and some people sovle poblem by fixed leak, not over tighting the belt or some end up to change P.S pump.Thanks.

Have you so much as checked your fluid level and condition?

 

What year are you? There was a recall about power steering noise on some models fixed by a redesigned o-ring.

 

Thanks Tom & everyone. fluid level is good now. My problem started back to 2 years ago, I didn't know the fluid leaked out from top of reservoir's lid until a few month ago. Well, I fixed the lid by wrap w/ PVC tape inside the screw look part and it no more leaking from the lid.
I knew it was always on minimum line so I thought it was OK to drive. I think the damage was done inside during the time.
Ok I figuare out about remove top metal hose which 2 nuts loosen and reuse the top part back.
I saw long thread screw one between and under P.S pump, engine. Is that purpose for adjust the P.S belt or what? Can I uncrew it to release the P.S belt?
