overheating problem
Hey guys recently I noticed when i pulled up to a red light for a little while the engine temp went real high. I checked the fluid and it was real low. I filled the radiator up and everything goes fine for a couple of weeks. Well now it has happened a couple more times but i never see any fluid leaks and cant smell coolant in the exhaust. I dont know where it is going. Also today it was low on coolant again but this time the overflow tank was full to the cap. Anybody have any ideas??

Faulty thermostat? Have you checked your oil dipstick to see if it is above the full mark or if its showing signs of coolant? Do you notice your rad fans turning on?

The fans are running fine and no sign of coolant in the oil that i can tell. I am hoping it the thermostat. I am running a compression test this weekend on it so we will see how those head gaskets are. Thanks for the reply. Any more ideas let me know

My first guess would be a thermostat since the fans run. Im guessing that since the overflow container is full to the top its pushed over into that and thats where its leaked out? Maybe jack up the car (place on jack stands) and get under the car and inspect for any leaks anywhere?
