One of the worst nightmares for a lowered car...

Well you guys, I probably hit THE worst pothole in northern california.

For those of you guys in the bay area that know the roads around here, I was getting off 87 at Santa Teresa going to Oakridge mall. The right lane has the biggest dip and is took a royal beating on my car. The dip was not even noticeable until of course I hit it.

Air freshener falls off my dash, I hear the loudest thump and it wasnt just my shocks bottoming out, I bent and cracked my oil pan. I daily drive my car and its slammed at about 4 inches off the ground. Smoke was everywhere, everybody is staring at me like, "YO, get that shit off the road" lmao. And my oil light came on. I quickly turn right and go into a shopping center and then turn off my car. Pop the hood, smoke still coming everywhere and oil was leaking all over the ground. THE WORST.

So remember guys, this CAN happen to your car!

Here are some pictures of the damage. I hope it is JUST the oil pan and not anything else. I got it towed to my mechanic's and hes gonna check on it on tuesday because hes so busy. It might also be my oil pick up but I won't be able to know until he checks inside the oil pan.

Anything else I might need to do/look out for? Thanks guys.

Thanks guys, it does suck and its a pain in the ass. I might as well go ahead and raise it up a bit.

Yeah I hope so. My headers look like that one finger pic that is absolutely disgusting lol.

I'm buying an oil pan online right now. Im just wondering if I should get anything else too.

Do I need to get a gasket or anything else or just the oil pan when replacing this? Thanks in advance.

Get a new Y pipe while your at it. You wont know what else you need till its taken apart, hopefully its just the pan. Get some HondaBond for the gasket.

Haha well I was most concerned about my car close to going up in flames hahaha. Haven't done anything to my car since that shoot. But here are some pics I had to take for the tow truck driver before he came to see how low I was. Dude broke his jack trying to raise my car for his lift. Lmao

The front is lower than the rear... If I carry passengers in the back itll sit lower and pretty much even out. Your back looks lower than your front hahaha. My front wheel is tucked a bit more.

fsttyms1 - Why should I replace the y-pipe?
