Oil leak
Oil leak
I had a tune up at 120k where all belts, timing belt, water pump, etc... Was replaced. I am now at 196k and have an oil leak coming from both the valve covers and oil pump. I found out about the oil pump when an airbag had a recall and the Acura dealership told me about the leak. I thought it was only the valve cover but after I fixed that, I still had a leak.
I do a lot of maintenance myself but I will not do the oil pump. The question I have is what else should I have the shop do when they are fixing the oil pump leak? Anything in that area I should get replaced seeing how they have my engine apart?

Depending on if and how bad the oil pump's leaking......if not real bad, wait until ya do the next T-belt replacement.
Check the VTEC solenoid valve and oil pressure switch for leaks before tearing the motor apart.

I used brake cleaner to clean the oil residue, then it made it easier to trace the leaks.
On the next timing belt service you should change the front main seal.
Mine had a leak by vtec solenoid at 206k.

Like ErickUa5 and 3.2 TLc mentioned, thoroughly clean the affected area to really pinpoint the leak. There are about 6 different things within a few inches of each other in the area you're describing. Vtec solenoid, solenoid seal, vtec oil sender, engine oil sender, front crank seal, oil pump to block seal, and oil filter housing to block seal. Try a new pcv valve; that cured a leaky rear main for at least one person here. I would only trust a pcv from the dealer. If you do have to do the front crank seal, replace the oil pump to block seal as well. I'm starting to see more of these failing at 150,000 to 200,000 miles.
Yup definitely try a new pcv.
I had a leak on the rear main seal right after doing my Type s swap (rookie mistake)
I didn't change the rear main seal and I wasn't planning on taking the trans off again,
So I used atp-205 with good results but I need to change the seal anyway for the upcoming summer so this will give me sometime until Im ready.

Hey Tubesock700, oil dripping on any of the pulleys or belts can't be good, IMO.
