oil change help...?
Ok so over the weekend I tried to change my oil because it is waaayyyy overdue. So I jacked up the car and I go to take off the oil drain plug but it is stuck. Growing up I learned that if you want to remove a bolt you turn the bolt to the left and if you want to tighten a bolt you turn to the right. (lefty loosey, righty tighty)
So for the life of me I am truing to the left and my bolt does not want to come off.
My question is am I turning the bolt the right direction to remove it or is it because it is a Japanese car, I have to turn the bolt to the right to remove it. Any input would be great.

Remove bolt by turning wrench counter-clockwise. Sounds like they put it on with an impact wrench.
I would, before you remove the drain plug, hit the local Acura or Honda service center and buy a new crush washer. Sounds like the one that's on there is going to be shot (assuming they even put one on).

i heard of a trick that some of the oil changing companies do... when you put a socket wrench on the bolt, take a rubber mallet or something hard and hammer the bolt. "supposedly it looses the crap that makes the bolt hard to turn."
Good Luck!!

Some tool probably used an impact wrench before you. If you can get some PB blaster, that stuff is really good. Works better than WD-40 I think.
And adding to what NSXNEXT said, be careful not to damage the bolt threads when you remove the old washer. I had one that was used multiple times and it crushed itself onto the threads.

A good thread to read on the subject: https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...ht=overtighten
