OEM rotor and pads part numbers
OEM rotor and pads part numbers
Hi,
I am getting my front rotors and pads replaced again! This will be 3 times in 5 months! It has been a nightmare in my wallet. Anyway, this time around I am getting OEM parts. I have a friend at Toyota that will have the work done for me at a great rate so I just need the parts.
How can I find OEM rotor and pads part numbers for my car so I can order them from Honda? It's a 2002 TL-P.
Any help is appreciated.
TIA

Why order OEM parts, they arent any good. contact our vendors and get teh rotors and pads from them, OR order the brembo blanks from tirerack.
If your set on oem

So I had someone install Brembo rotors a couple days ago... Now I have come to find out they are actually Roto-Tech rotors (3175 R/L and 3186 R/L). I'm pretty cheesed about it. Does anyone know anything about this brand/model?
thx

Ok this is almost painful to write... This has been my THIRD set of rotors and pads installed within 5 MONTHS now. The most recent was less than 1 week ago. I am now getting the exact same sound of a warped rotor again. I am begining to think something else is causing this. Any ideas?
TIA

so basically I'm thinking something else is causing my brakes to not function properly thus warping the rotors all over again. But these rotors have all been cheap quality so it can possibly be the fact that they are cheap. I'm just worried about getting a set of Brembos now and then watching them warp along with all the other sets rotors.
If you are warping them that easy i would say that you probably have a caliper issue. You may also have a rear rotor that is causing the pulsation. And what to you mean by

I always thought it was right away...
I re-read the Heeltoe bed in process. He does mention that about the Racingbrake rotors. I guess it can apply for all performance rotors?
So is it... no hard braking for 500 miles, then do the bed in?

Interesting, because I do not really feel a vibration. I can feel something slightly in the brake pedal when braking but hardly noticeable. The sound is like loud grinding or squeaking only when I brake. The sound is not continuous while braking... it seems while braking, as it spins over a certain part it grinds/sqeals.
Thanks 2 every1 who added their input!

I follow that procedure with all my rotors. I always like to cycle the rotors and give the pads time to break in and wear to the rotor. I have never warped a set of rotors (well at least not before at least 60-70k miles)
No they are brand new pads and rotors all around. It did not make the noise today. But I feel it will come back. I think something else mechanically is causing the the brakes to make the noise. Probably the calipers as fsttyms1 said.
ok if it's not the rotors since there is no vibration just a loud sound and the pads are all new. what other possibilities could cause such a loud squeaking sound? I have been fixing the wrong thing for 3 times now. I just know that the sound happens only when I brake. It sounds like it is coming from the front. Could it be the brake fluid as totaledTL said? I haven't had time to investigate the calipers yet.
One thing I have noticed is when I changed the rotors, the sound went away for about a week. Then came back.
Thanks for your input guys.

I just wanted to let you guys know that I think I have fixed the problem. I had just replaced the drivers side front caliper. It only cost me $60. My friend, two different mechanic shops, and an Acura dealership told me the problem was my rotors.
On the downside, now my brakes squeal.
