Noob Needs help with rear rotor replacement Caliper bracket rubbing
Hello all. I am currently in the middle of replacing rear rotors on a 2003 tl type-s and having an issue with the caliper bracket. I bought new rotors from Brakemotive and replaced the front ones easily, but the rear are a pain in my butt. The new rotors don't sit as deep on the studs as the old rotors. It is causing some rubbing on the dust shield behind it, but I still don't think that's the issue. There just isn't any clearance. There is some serious rubbing going on, and I have no idea what to do. I have attached a link to some pictures to show there is no clearance, and please let me know if there is anything I need to do further that I probably have forgotten. Thanks for all your help.

the rear rotors contain the Park Brake Shoes- a mini set of drum brakes are inside the wide part of the center hub- rear rotor
If the park brake is ON- you wont get the new rotors all the way on
Compare the new and old parts on that center section
and you will need to readjust park brakes after new rotor install
There is a star wheel on bottem section- use that opening in rotor to stick a screwdriver inside
tighten till wheel wont easily move by hand- then back off 6 clicks

hey guys. working with brakemotive now. they are checking the specs to see if they were made correctly. Old rotors fit back on fine with my hubs, new rotors just don't have enough clearance. They are not sitting deep enough on the lugs. Let you know what I find out. Gracias.
Hi Colin :
I can't see how they were manufactured not to fit. If the casting is just plain wrong, you're going to have to return them and I suspect that's were you're going. It's good to see the supplier is working with you, but they should be compensating you for all the "quality assurance" you're doing on their behalf.
It's kind of a testament to sticking with OEM parts.
Good luck with your project !
