Angry New rotor and brake pad replacement

Are new rotors and brake pads suppose to squeal?

I went to Midas to get them to replace my rotors twice. The second time was free because I complained.

I got new rotors and brake pads. I even asked what kind of pads did they install and he was like "They are ceramic". Because ceramic is quieter. But after about a few days the brakes are still squealing. Is there something they did wrong or is it something I'm suppose to do?

The dude from Midas said they were ceramic but ceramic pads don't give off brown brake dust, semi-metallic does. So I'm starting to think that he put the wrong pads on my car but again he says they are ceramic. And I took the car to them 5 times to fix the squealing.

Well I know they screwed me over but they put new rotors and pads on. So are those rotors awful or did they just forget to add some lube to the shims or something?

Go back and ask them which brand of parts they used.

The problem is really probably caused by pads that are just to harsh.

Ceramics are really more of a buzzword in brake pads rather than a real benefit.

We use primarily Hawk or Racingbrake pads, and I am sure if you just got some Hawk HPS or RB ET300 then you'd be much better off. The cheapie stuff at Midas is more meant to stand up to baloney gurantees.

The rotors and brake pads came from NAPA. I'm not to huge on the aftermarket brake pads, but if I have to go that way just to get rid of this squealing then so be it.

I just can't stand it. Midas says its normal. I'm not sure if I'm bedding them correctly or not.
