New to this forum, TL-S purchased yesterday...

2 quick questions, does anyone have a part number or a cheap fix for the (2) hood shocks (they are dead), and also an inexpensive bluetooth interface? I have the Nav, the Bose seems to sound fine, (in-dash CD changer doesn't work), so I would like to keep the stock system and just stream my phone through a bluetooth interface. I see the GROM stuff online, but I have used a GROM interface in the past (VW) and had bad results...Thanks in advance...

Hood Shocks:
Amazon.com: Qty (2) ACURA TL 2002 2003 Gas Charged Hood Lift Supports, Struts, Shocks, Dampers: Automotive Amazon.com: Qty (2) ACURA TL 2002 2003 Gas Charged Hood Lift Supports, Struts, Shocks, Dampers: Automotive

I don't recall any interface that can be plugged to the TL for Bluetooth.. Your best bet is with universal gadgets like this:
http://www.amazon.com/Adapsonic%C2%AE-Stereo-Bluetooth-Cassette-Adapter/dp/B00DOIAFY6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1400876571&sr=8-1&keywords=Cassette+Bluetooth http://www.amazon.com/Adapsonic%C2%AE-Stereo-Bluetooth-Cassette-Adapter/dp/B00DOIAFY6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1400876571&sr=8-1&keywords=Cassette+Bluetooth

Hope it Helps.

local parts stores will have aftermarket hood struts and oil change parts

get a cabin air filter while there (comes with the needed 2 in a box)
may never have been done! see our diy

it must be the start of the summer heat epidemic,,,my hood came a thunkin down recently!

see the special section Audio for tips on replacement of the stock head unit
once the cd dies many go new on the unit and get all the modern things with it
like Bluetooth and device plug ins

Thanks guys, I actually used to be a 12V installer and managed a store in the 90s. I recently used Erisin for a few vehicles (say what you want about the Chinese nav units, mine always worked). I don't know who uses CDs anymore, I just stream. I used to use adapters for adding aftermarket (Alpine in a Honda/Acura) changers for factory radios, was just thinking that with todays technology there was a Bluetooth to factory unit. I have done some research, but the Grom thing doesn't work for me. I will look some more, I saw someone with an RL on here used an adapter through his factory On-Star. I may try that. I am just happy that this is an active forum, and has a lot of really helpful people. Thank you guys sooo much. I have been on other forums in the past (ehem...Superhonda), where mainly everyone just trolls to disrespect other members, not a good environment...liking the Arcurazine...

there are some really smart experienced ziners
to make friends here its best to use the search feature before posting new threads,,almost every topic has been covered at some point and some have dozens of threads..example seafoam
search can be focused on gen2 to get actual help

but if your stuck--new post away!
couple of handy places www.owners.acura.com gets a free owner book download
with tips and a safe place to store radio nav codes
and acura care 1800 328 2238 x5 iirc search here will get it for you too
can ck recalls complete

I must be the last guy hauling CDs around, at least my helmet runs on micro sd
(awaiting comments~ music size fit brain etc)

What I got, things are great! Weird the labels on yours are 2 different colors, mine both looked blue like on the left. Doesn't matter but it just caught my eye lol

They are same color, must have been the lighting. I really like these also and believe I wrote a review on it here somewhere. Where`s that review when you need it.

^ Mine are so strong that I have to actually stop the hood from going up... If I let go I believe I would break the little plastic Tab on the Struts as the hood would try to smash the windshield. I hope they start to make some Progressive ones (Slow down when fully extending) because right now they are super strong and fast when opening the hood, Not OEM Like.

They have give me 4 years of use though! Kudos on the Craftsmanship, Cant beat it for 35 bucks a Pair..
And FYI none of my local Parts-store (Autozone, O´Reilly or NAPA) Carry the length of our Hood Struts in stock, Had to Order so Amazon FTW!.

^ Yah they should definitely be Progressive.. Slow Down just before they reach full extent. A pal of mine actually hit his chin because he let go the hood and it opened too fast.. Its was hilarious after I checked my Hood wasn't damaged..

Well, the reason they were only $20 shipped, is they don't have the retail packaging. They are the same struts, same pale blue stickers, #4160 printed with a warning or something. They arrived in about a week. They are strong, when I was installing, I used just one to hold the hood up while I installed the other. Here's the link...HAHAHA I just went to the auction that I bought them from for $20.45 shipped, and they have been marked up $10. I guess someone screwed up. I even checked my paypal to make sure that's what I paid. Guess it was a really good deal...
