new development - ignition beeping at car start up
I recently bought a great 2001 Acura 3.2 TL that appears to have been well taken care of. Just today however, when I place the key into the ignition and turn it to position 2 (before cranking the engine), I get a beep. I start the car with no problem, the beep goes away after about 2 seconds. All the dash warning lights come on and go off like a normal engine start. I have had the car since February and today has been the first time it has done it. Is this normal? (My doors are closed, the lights off, etc.) Any ideas? Is it a seatbelt warning beep? The car just today turned over 73k. I maintain it regularly. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
Seatbelt warning beeps, medium repeated beep when you hit pos'n II on your ignition. Buckle your seatbelt next time before you turn your key on (which must be what you usually do) and you will notice that you don't notice it. If it is not that beep, the only other noise is lights on noise, but that is more of a "ding dong ding dong" noise, so anyway.
