Question Need Urgent Help with Door!

I changed the door on my 99 TL, but couldn't figure out the way to remove the handle key lock. I mean, my car has another door and it's like tryin' to open another car. Is there a DIY by any chance about this or a diagram. I already removed all bolts and nuts but it just doesn't come out.

PLEASE HELP!!

The outer handle is what you need to remove and replace on both the old and new door. You'll have to remove the door panel and all the linkage to the outer handle, and then swap them.

I saw a ring in the picture diagram that I couldn't see due the lack of visibility inside the door. I'll give it a try tomorrow. Hopefully that's just what's getting in the way

yeah gotta pull that out, otherwise the handle itself won't pop out due to the backing plate being kept there

and basically that clip, you just gotta hook it, then pull it straight down, and it should release the lock cylinder, then you can just put your old cylinder into the new door

I finished swapping them today. Actually, I only had to pull out the ring, unscrew the cylinder switch bolt and disconnect the rod connected to the cylinder, and the cylinder will be free. It's just a little bit tricky since there's not enough room to move your hand freely but there's no need to loose the Door handle.

Well, i guess this is another happy ending thread

Spiro. Is there a link that gives exploded view of the whole door? I'm trying to see all the components and how they fit together with the locking mechanism.

Also the Spiro provided the link of the exploded view of the door, just click on it and you can see it.
Other than that you need the service manual which is on this site somewhere.
