Hey guys, Ive had my TL for about 4 moths now. its a 99, with 208k on it and still running strong. My driver door does not lock with the rest of the power doors. If i lock it manually, the alarm will go off through out the day and night. because of this I have been leaving one of the doors unlocked, but naturally living in chicago, my car has now been broken into, twice. acura is claiming that it is a hood latch issue, which will cost me $265 to fix. Does anyone know of a way that I can disable the factory alarm. I am ok with losing power door locks if necessary. thanks for the help!

 

I have '02 TL and have the same problem (but all doors lock with remote). Mechanic says one of my sensors is loose or broke (doors/truck/hood/etc). First noticed the problem when my car stopped beeping when arming with remote.

 

It's almost always the hood latch. You can disconnect the 2 wire pigtail that's a few inches below the latch, behind the vertical brace. If it's the hood latch, the alarm should still work. Check for the flashing light by the door lock button. The chirp should return as well. One push on the fob locks the car, 2 pushes lock the car and activates the alarm as well.
