Need to reset engine light 2001 Tl
Take out the CLOCK FUSE on the passenger side fuse panel. take it out and wait like 5 minutes and then put it back in...also you could disconnect the battery. if the light comes back on, id suggest going to autozone or somewhere like that to get it checked for codes
Here is how its done. While the car is off, depress both the Reset and the Select buttons up on the console near the hazard button. Keep them both depressed while you turn the engine on. Keep holding, because within 10 or fifteen seconds the check engine light will flash. This is the signal that the switch is reset and you can let go of the buttons. That's all there is to it.
In the 2001 ACURA user manual it states that it takes three drive trips to reset the check engine light and if it comes on repeatedly it should be checked.

Ignore the above post
if the CEL is on you need to go to a parts store for a code reading
THEN remove the clock fuse for 1 minute, and reinstall fuse = secret backup power to the ECU, clears codes and does system self test
instead of pulling batt neg cable, which then requires inputting the radio security code
if MAIT REQ light is on you reset that with the 2 trip buttons but if done wrong it adjust the outside temp gauge reading!

if you cant figure out how to bend your arms and hold the buttons:
Put key in ign
Put LEFT arm thru top of steering wheel to press and hold in the 2 trip reset buttons
Use right hand to operate key, turn to ON not start!
its 10 flashes of the Mait Req light then stops itself = you are done
As the OP said AFTER changing oil blah blah, seems reasonable the red Mait Req light = oil change reminder light, is the reset needed
On the ECU reset by clock fuse -for yellow light CEL issues,
IF you are taking the car in for a state inspection that plugs into the ECU port after doing a reset, it will need ~3 drives in various conditions for the system to have all the info it needs
If not enough, it will give a not ready for testing error message
Owner book gives a 45 minute specific drive for quickly getting it `taught`
