Need help with p0740

I need some advice on what i should do next i have an 03 acura tl type s 130k auto, & if i drive in d4 wich either my mom or my girlfriend has for over 2 yrs now the cel never comes on but if i put it in d5 the cel will come on within minutes i have tryed replacing the dual linear solenoid & im not sure if i replaced the tcc solenoid but i tryed too i replaced both brown & black colored solenoids pretty much right under the starter & none of them made any diff & after i replaced the last 2 what i thought was at least one of them the tcc solenoid i then found 2 more brown & black colored solenoids under the throttle body & since the other 2 i changed made no diff i figured they must be good solenoids so i replaced the block colored solenoid under the throttle body with the black colored one i removed from under the starter & that also made no diff also i have done the 3x3 drain & fill with new trans fluid & replaced the lil rpund black filter that sits on top, everything i have read online just says that the code means the tranny is toast but i think somehow this car may be diff the code has been comen on since before i got the car & my mom has driven the car for a few yrs & about 10k miles only in d4 tho with absolutely no problems with trans it still drives great & shifts perfect? Plz any help would be very much appreciated!

Hello, welcome.

When in D4 the torque converter lockup clutch is disabled, which is why you don't get the CEL.

Unfortunately P0740 is the "code of death". In your case if you're still getting good shifts and you've changed all those solenoids then perhaps you could settle with a new torque converter as a stopgap. But prepared for a new transmission in your future (do NOT NOT NOT rebuild this transmission).

You might consider changing some pressure sensors. 01acls is your man - hopefully he weighs in here with some advice.

Wish I had better Christmas news for you. Good luck.
