So lastnight I my buddy and I installed a comptech icebox on my car. We screwed up bad, trying to get it in there fast we didnt by pass the coolaint line and my buddy hooked it up to the intake. So when i started my car coolaint was pouring threw the intake. The car died out a few seconds later and now when I try to start it after figuring out I neede to by pass the coolaint line and hooking it all up right she wont start. She turns over and chugs for a second and dies right out.

Does anyone know what it could be? I think coolaint got into my engine and now it wont start because of that, or could it be the mass flow air sensor or something along that line. Any help would be great!

 

Sounds like hydro-lock.

 

+1 and if it is, you may have done serious damage.

 

Not sure what hydro-lock is but I just pulled out all the spark plugs, replaced them with new ones, fired up the TL and she started first try without a problem. I think I just fouled my plugs. Anyways the comptech ice box sounds amazing!

 

You are very lucky. If it took in any more coolant or water through the intake, it will lockup the engine. My buddy went through a deep puddle and suck water through the air intake and he ended up buying a new engine.

 

You might want to do an oil change to get the coolant out, the antifree will eat up the gaskets and seals like putting a rubber band into gasoline.

 

Oil change is getting done monday, this air intake has turned into a $500 intake lol
