Need help with ddm tuning hid kit for acura 2000 tl.

Need help with ddm tuning hid kit for acura 2000 tl. I have everything installed my only problem is getting power to the lights. I have 2 metal tabs on the end of a red and a black wire coming from the kit that is suppose to bring power to it. Tech support said I would need to splice those wires for it to work since it wouldn't fit the Acura harness. So what I did is cut the wires back on the old Acura igniter harness the female end and then wired my new kit to the old connector and plugged them in. I tried both combinations red to orange and black to brown. Then flipped red to brown and black to orange. Nothing at all comes on. I can put a light in the old unit and touch the wires together and it comes on. What am I doing wrong?? It does this on both sides. Does anyone know which is positive and negative from factory wiring? Orange or brown?? Please help desperate with no lights!!!

Just to be sure, you are splicing the wires that have the (if i remember correctly) the Grey harness clip? Or after the ignitor? Im assuming you have a new ballast and everything? You need to be splicing the Red/yellow wire and the Black wire at the clip that plugs into the headlight.

I think I figured out. I actually was confusing the ballast for the igniter. So i was trying to pull power from the old ballast to the new one. Where is the old ballast located and how the heck do I find it. Is this going to require taking the bumper off? Keep in mind that I am no where close to a mechanic.

I look up the Orignal part online and saw the ballast is a larger square box but I'm not sure where it is located. By tracing the wire in the headlight housing it looks to me like it may be underneath in the bumper somewhere.

SInce you have new ballasts you dont need to get to the old ones. Unplug the harness that goes to the headlight (not the highbeam) and splice those wires. There should be a Red/Yellow stripe wire and a Black. Those are the wires you want. If i remember right its a grey clip that plugs into the headlight. That is the power source you want.

I think the problem might be your rice intake wiring. Remove the rice wiring from the kit you bought and you should be ok. The kit you bought may not be defective, but it's better to remove it first than to be laughed at going down the street.
