Need help with 2000 TL tranny asap!

I have a 2000 Acura TL that has 138xxx miles on it. The transmission just started to act funny. When I first drive the car it drives fine. After a couple minutes of driving it would act up. When it is shifting into 3rd it will take a couple seconds to get into gear. Also after a while of driving the tranny doesn't want to work. I would turn off the car for a minute or so and it would work again. If anyone has any info that would help let me know.

I think so also, but I don't want to think like that. Hopefully when I go get it checked tomorrow it will just be a little problem.

... you're probably f'd man. no such thing as little problem with our shitty ass transmissions, unless you call a $3200+ fix a "little problem"

You can "try" to take out the solenoids and clean them and change the trans filter (external) and fluid but its probably a little late.

With any luck you won't get one of the lexus models with terminal engine sludging, cadillacs with head bolt threads stripping in the block, or nissans with piston ring failure among others. I understand your frustration, but in the last couple years a lot of companies have gotten stingy with their warranties. "Lifetime" warranties on auto parts are pretty much a joke as they now enforce the fine print. I attribute it to the sluggish economy most of us are dealing with.
