Need Advice -- Code P1457 - DIY ?

Hi All :

I had the check engine light code decrypted to a P1457 which is apparently a evap leak condition. They further diaged it to "needs a EVAP Canister and Vent Shut Valve."

Is this the typical fix ? Can a DIY'er do this work or is it stealership territory ?

The vent shut valve is probably THE most common cause for that code. It's located on the canister in front of the fuel tank. Try the valve first. If it's full of charcoal pieces, you need the canister too. Beyond that, I'd recommend the dealer. Evap codes can drive you nuts. Honda/acuras seem especially good at testing fine when they are bad or intermittent. Some dealer techs will tell you to "assume bad unless proven otherwise" on some of the solenoid valves.
