Unhappy My TL-S Got Hit Hit While Parked

This really sucks....some girl fell asleep at the wheel and hit my baby the other night...lots of damage - right front fender, front bumper, headlight, lower lip, foglight, inner fender and probably some other misc. body parts in the engine bay all need to be replaced....not to mention a new tire.....she hit my Type-S whille it was parked on the side of the street and the fender is rolled back like the top of a can of sardines......i figured around $5k worth of damages and the owner at the body shop said at least $5 or 6k......i just hope there is no frame damage.....it is still driveable - just misaligned which can be somewhat attributed to the spare being on, but no noises or anything else.....i just don't want them to total it.....it's a 2003 in mint condition.....my poor NBP

yeah it really sucks!!!...especially since the rental they gave me is a Corolla......I'm just worried that they are going to find frame damage when they start tearing it down.......he looked it over pretty well and did not even mention anything about the car being totaled - just that it will probably take like 2 weeks to finish......

Oh man, that sucks. I sure am sorry to hear about this! My car got hit on the street the other night. They scraped off some paint on the left rear bumper, and I thought I was pissed off about that! I really hope the body shop does a good job, and a fast one! We dont want you stuck in a corolla! Best of luck to you. Let us know how its progressing!

just because the frame is damaged doesn't mean the car isn't driveable. with the precision machines they have now when they bend frames back into place it can actually be straighter than when it came out of the factory.

i had the frame in my 88 chrysler straightened when i had an accident back in 97, and personally i thought the car was better when it came out then when i bought it since it was used.

just my , but i am sorry it happened to you. thankfully that chic is going to have to pay for it.

It's funny you said that....because that is exactly what the body shop owner just told me...lol.....so here is the damage [literally]....$5157- in parts including a new wheel and tire, $2537- in body and paint labor, and $354- for paint.....all of this equates to a grand total of about $8057- .....at least the entire front-end will get repainted which means no more stone chips and lower spoiler scratches......but 2 weeks without my baby......damn it.....

you should try to get them to go and paint the whole car while theyre at it, so it matches better.

You should argue to get a better rental. The accident wasn't your fault and they should compensate you with an equivalent vehicle to your TLS. At least they should give you a full sized rental car.

^^ what he said, its b.s. that they stuff u in a corolla, like when the acura dealer stuck me in an RSX a while back....Unfortunately your not gettin the stuff done at the acura dealer, they hooked me up wit an 06 TL loaner...Even my friend got a Dodge Charger when she crashed her 05 Accord.... Thats messed up though there should b a shocking sensor that jolts you wit eletricity when your eye lids close for more than 5 secs like I saw on the news about them making one a few years ago....

Actually, I got a flat in the Corolla rental yesterday and brought it back to Enterprise, even though my body shop called and said that my TLS would most likely be done on Friday...Enterprise wanted ME to take the car to Goodyear and wait to have the tire replaced - at their expense, of course.....I told them that that was horrible customer service, and it was bad enough that I got a compact economy rental in the first place to replace my Acura.....then this hottie came out from the back and she said - "He's waiting on an Acura repair and you gave him a Corolla?....Give him the new Murano right now..."....she then apologized....I'm likeing the Murano, however....

Was there a ring on her? You should thank her with some dinner.

Sometime you need to raise some hell to get what's right. Better than getting walked on.

Angry

So I got my car back yesterday....the body panel alignment is perfect, however....there are fine scratches all over the newly painted body panels - I'm guessing from whatever incompetant washed my car after it was finished.....UNACCEPTABLE....Also, the drivers airbag is not centered in the steering wheel - there is a huge gap on one side which exposes a red wire and the other side is rite against the cruise control switch module.....

I called the body shop and told them about the airbag and they apologized and are going to fix it next week....I just noticed the scratches this morning and I plan on bringing it up when I return the car next week.....What are the chances they will agree to repainting it?...I mean shouldn't there be zero scratches on new paint?....Come on.....They said that they guarantee their work for the life of the car...
