Exclamation Multiple Codes - PLEASE HELP

Hello All,
I can normally find my answers on here howeve the thread i found that came close was this one:
https://acurazine.com/forums/2g-tl-problems-fixes-117/vsa-light-640207/

My issue:
I changed my sparkplugs a few months ago they were just a tad longe than the ones i took out but Discount insisted thati had the right ones. Anyway shortly afterwards i noticed that the car would idle a bit rougher. Then the VSA and the ! light would come one simultaneously. I have had the tranny replaced already prior to this issue. I had a friend read the codes for me and this is what i got:

P0133 = O2 SENSOR CKT SLOW RESPONSE ( BANK 1 SENSOR 1)
P0420 = CATALYST EFFICIENCY BELOW THRESHOLD (BANK 1)
P0301 = P0306 = MISFIRE ON PISTON 1-6
P1455 = MFG. CONTROL AUXILIARY EMISSION CONTROLS
P0300 = MULTIPLE CYLINDER MISFIRE
P1399 = MFG. CONTROL INGITION SYSTEMS OR MISFIRE

Some would suggest a fule pump or EGR valve. I know someone on here has had the same if not similar issue. Any help that is relevant to this topic and the issues at hand is greatly appreciated. Moderators please can you help keep the replies on topic.

what bs plugs did they sell you anyway?

NGK Iridium IX, about 7 dollar each= 45 a set of 6 is the way to go
kragen=pepboys-murrays-checker auto parts etc- all carry them- call a few places in the phone book and ask

NOT bosch or ac or anything else!!!

A plug was longer than stock, and you installed it anyway???!?!?!?!?!?
Do you believe in a Higher Power???

to reset the ECU after plug change, on the passenger side footwell or dash edge is a small fuse panel - remove cover- find #13 CLOCK fuse and remove it for 1 minute then reinsert
You have just forced a reboot of the engine computer,, it will be doing a self test and relearn as you drive for the next week
Then get the codes checked again

You can remove a few plugs and see if there was contact damage to the electrode

You must treat the coils like eggs- very gently- or they will sustain damage internally

I have a 2000 TL and the exact same issue. I just bought the car from a used dealership 103k miles. There were no lights until 2weeks after I purchased the car.

Check engine lights said "mis-fire cyl-1-5" and "random misfire"

- I bought a brand new battery, and brand new OEM SPARK PLUGS from ACURA.

The car started up fine after the tune up. About one week later the same thing happened again.... When i started the car it would idle really weak and want to shut off.. then the next thing you know the Check engine light along with the TCS light would turn on.

it gets the the point where it shuts off on me, and will not stay on... no other check engine codes come up..

I made it back to the used dealer ship and left it up to him.. if he doesn't fix it... i dont want it...

What does the TCS light have to do with a misfire???

And why would you want to reset the ECU?? codes are only gonna come right back.. the first time it happened to me... i had the codes cleared out... they came right back...

They're going to either fix it or take it back after 2 weeks?

No the problem started two weeks after buying the car. I took it back to him and left it there.. Either he fixes the problem or i do not want the car.....

It was a trade in to his dealership. It had a valid inspection sticker that was not expired so he thought he could save 37bucks and not re-do the inspection sticker. Well the DMV isn't letting him register the car without a new inspection... I told him " you cannot sell me a car that doesn't pass inspection, and dont try to pay someone 100 dollars to pass it and clear the codes."

Multiple misfire codes are 99.9% of the time 1 single coil pack. Rarely 2 or more. TCS light for some reason was programed by acura to come on with most CEL's

Ohhhh, you have an angle with him then, if he couldn't register it, now I get it.

Thanks,

I'm new to the coil pack system, I'm used to working on B-series motors so I am a distributor guy..
How do I figure out which coil pack is faulty?

Yup he has no choice but to fix it.

Personally I have not had to deal with those yet but others have said to buy one new one and replace each of yours one at a time w/ the new one, resetting the ECU after each replacement, then checking for CEL code. Handle them carefully as I understand they are somewhat fragile.

Like stated above, most members buy 1 new coil and start out putting it on 1 cyl resetting the ecu and driving it. If the code comes up they put the original back on and move the new to the next cyl. continue doing this till there is no code. Coils are much easier to deal with than distributors. There is a separate coil on each plug. No plug wires, no cap and rotor to wear out and adjust.

just treat the coils gently when you set them down to remove the plug, on a towel wont hurt!
See if the car just got new spark plugs- a major service is due at 105- expect 1200$ for water pump timing belt tune up stuff
If the tech mishandled a coil...
