MPG Problem

I recently just got a new transmission installed in my 2003 acura tl type s. ever since then my gas gauge has been dropping super fast. I filled up on monday and reset the odometer trip a to see how many miles i could get on one tank. its been 2 days and ive driven 67 miles.... i'm at a quarter tank filled up with premium gas. input on what could be wrong or advice???? thanks!

you cant tell anything on a quarter tank
What was your mpg before?

the new parts must wear into each other inside the trans,,that may cause some drag for a few tanks
Are you out testing the new trans- hard throttle, vtec runs etc?
Has your driving been in town?
and the normal things like tire pressure, seafoamed yadayada

I think the pedal all the way on the right is to close to the floor.

Let it up a few inches and report back.

Are you actually tracking the odometer and doing the math?

it should be required to calculate gas mileage before you get your license.

I'm going to let my gas tank go almost until empty and see what my mileage is. Highway driving is around 60% if not more since I commute to school. I'll keep you guys updated with what's going on. Thanks for the replies!

It doesnt have to be empty... just reset the trip odometer at fill up... drive a while then fill up again and do the math Miles/gallons.

you get a more accurate average the more miles driven
the TL low fuel light comes on with 3 gallons remaining
of which ~2.5 are useable
tank capacity 17.3 us gal

average street/freeway drive will be 300+ to the low light, some get 350 or more

city driving for my 03 TL (147,000 miles) I'd be lucky if I got 300 miles, highway driving I can get a few miles over 400.

ckd tire pressure, spark plug age and seafoamed it?
with those miles its ready for the egr system cleaning too
a valve adjust will restore mileage
run cleaner first so intake valves seat correctly = better adjustment
