Your best bet is to buy the "OEM" 2-stage design T-stat for overall trouble-free results.

Thank you. Where to check it out? Do you have it on your TL?

I remember my temp needle nearing 4/5 on the OEM thermostat at a one time trip leaving vegas. This is what's prompting me to try a cooler running engine. Thank you though .

I live in San Diego but do lots of trips to Arizona so I know your feeling but seriously the stocker T-stat has been a champ in those horrible summers we get with full A/C and luggage so its been alright.

Id try to flush the Anti/freeze and make a full change and replace t-stat. FYI the stock is the 2 Stage but they wear out so you should replace it.. If you feel your system isn't working its best you might wanna do a pressure test cuz your Water Pump can go wrong with age.

Yeah, as Skirmich said......have the cooling system pressure checked, replace the coolant and T-stat.

Also, make sure that both of the cooling fans are properly activating. If you're temp guage is over 1/2......something is not right.

Sounds like the right way to get started.Ok then I'll change my coolant fluid and replace the thermostat w OEM first. I should have enough time and observe how it performs over time.Thank you all for your kind replies =).

If your Temp gauge read that high you have other things to look into as issues than trying a lower temp t-stat. You need to make sure your radiator is clean and not plugged up. Flush it with a hose washing all the debris from inbetween the fins, Make sure your coolant is full, and make sure your fans operate as they should.
