misfire problem??
misfire problem??
my 02 tl-s is running a little rough when idling and freeway speeds. it isnt misfiring bad to the point where the check engine light will come on, but im getting annoyed by the virbrating. i tried adjusting the valves but the we fine. so now im figuring it may be the plugs or coils going bad. does any have a way to check the coil to see if they are good?? any suggestions?? thanks
well i think you can take the coils into autozone/pepboys and they will test them for you on their bench. you should call and check. otherwise you should be able to measure the electical resistance of the coil itself across the connector terminals to determine if it is bad or not. i don't know what the value returned should be but by deduction if you get 5 coils within 5-10 ohms of eachother and 1 that's out of whack you know which one is bad.
have you checked the engine codes yet? it might tell you which cylinder it is.

well my friend work at a acura dealership and hooked it up to the honda diagnostic scanner (HDS), and he said the misfire counter was showing random misses, everytime you turn on the ignition. for example first time you start the car it would show it was misfiring 1&3, then turn off the car and back on, it would show 4&5. he said my 02 sensor readings looked a bit lazy. he didnt have time to get too in depth. could it be clogged fuel injectors??? i just poured some BG stuff in my gas tank tonight and see how that goes
