Marvel mystery oil

Just wondering since I've used it on an older car and it seemed to work, for the ticking that some of us experience, would Marvel Mystery oil quiet it a little? Or would it be a waste of money and I should just waiting to get the valve ticking noise fixed the right way??

no, don't bother. bg44k or chevron techron is all you need, the other stuff is nonsense

OK thankx, so Marvel is out of the question, I'll probably go with BG44K since I've read about it before and with 91,000 miles on my car it should help but as far as the ticking goes, will BG44K silience that in any way or is it more targeted for the fuel injectors??

I think gumout regane is just as good if not better than BG44K. I have used both several times now and in my results for my car the gumout seems to work a little better. both work very well though and your car will run smoother than before. I have used techron and thought it was crap, didn't seem to do anything. gumout and BG44K both gave noticeable results. for the money and availability, go with the gumout regane and you'll be happy IMHO.

Are you sure its the valvs ticking. And if you have ticking valves I wouldnt use a bandaid on it. I would have it looked at by a dealer or mechanic

Yeah it's definitely valves, went to the dealer to get something else done and asked if they would check the ticking noise and thats when they told it I need my valves adjusted, they said its nothing major but it will take away the ticking, why does this only happen when the car is warm, not when I first start it up?
