main't req

I don't know if it's me or just that I never noticed my maintenance required light blinks 10 times after I turned on my car. What's it mean?

It's a preset interval by Acura meaning the car is due for an oil change or scheduled maintenance. With the key off, hold both the select and reset buttons to the right of your cluster, then turn the key to on, but don't start the motor. Then, wait until the light stops flashing and goes out and release both buttons. Shut the key off, then do the same procedure again. Release the buttons, and you should be good.

only have to do the procedure once to reset system,,
it only means 6500-7500 miles have passed since last reset by someone doing oil change
NO relation to condition of the oil

it starts with gentle blinks at engine start,, gets more insistant blinks as it nears 7000 and at 7500 is on solid while you drive to make sure you know something needs attention

place key in ignition
put left hand thru top of steering wheel
press and hold in BOTH trip buttons with left hand
with right hand turn key to ON so dash lights come on--not to start position
mait flashes 10 times and goes out
turn key off
release buttons
remove hand
done
oh--get the oil changed~

Has nothing to do with your oil. In 6500 miles it will come on again.

Then you either put 6500 miles on it in one month, or you forgot to reset the Maint Reqd Light.

its going to come on solid on the dash and stay on,,,and make your friends think you dont take care of your car!
Simply reset it now

when it starts to blink next time at 6500- add 1/2 can seafoam and drive a few days.

change oil with it warm from 15 minute freeway drive so all the crud is `liquified` and will drain right out
Reset light again~
