Lurching, surging, and generally unsmooth

Lurching, surging, and generally unsmooth
Hi All, looking for advice on a strange issue. I have a 2003 TL-S that I bought several months ago. At first I didn't really notice but now I really notice this car is anything but smooth. Its very subtle, but it seems to surge and jerk during acceleration and also, although not as much, during maintaining speed. I took it to the dealer, who basically told me nothing was wrong except my transmission fluid needed to be replaced. No change at all. I think you need to drive it for some time to notice it.

I have a friend who thought it might be the ABS speed sensors on the front wheels feeding bad information to the computer. I haven't tried to replace them yet Another possible clue is I installed new quality pads and rotors, bled system, and even after all that the brakes still pulse when I stop. Wanted to get some other ideas. Maybe someone else has experienced this?

nothin w/ abs

i dont think ur prob has n e thing 2 d0 with abs. if ur experiencing jerkin n lungin and u just bought the car several months ago, i would suggest u start by changing the spark plugs and maybe the coils also but start with the plugs. they make a big difference, especially if u dont know whwn they were last changed. then work ur way thru the engine and replace things like air filter, tranny flush, etc. if u dont have service records prior 2 da sale u basically start from scratch

start the clock, your trans is about to assplode (I'm not kidding) my 02 cl-s does the same thing on it's replacement transmission.....classic sign is fluid changing colors quickly and the things you discribe. I also get slipping when under light accelleration and this is with a new trans and PCM installed at 71K miles back in sept 08

your brakes are new and they still pulse? I would check your tires and rims over. New brakes that are properly bled will not vibrate. Replacing your abs sensors will not solve the issue. recheck front brake installation and make sure everthing is tightened properly

you bled/flushed the brakes in the following order?
driver front then clockwise around the car LF RF RR LR

surging the dealer says change trans fluid-- I agree- trans is loading up the TQ and on its way out
Is it worse when driving a while?
and you ckd the front and rear motor mounts?

Trans issue: how mechanically inclined are you? Fluid change- easy DIY. Look on the main 2g TL page for that. Recommend changing external filter. Further help would be cleaning sensors all around. All that can be found on here. How many miles is the vehicle? Ever been replaced? Call acura or head over to owners.acura.com for open recalls on vehicle. Would really help us to know service history if known. Easy way to tell if trans was replaced is blue paint on bolts. There's also a recent thread that shows the recall oil jet kit if it was installed on your car.

Brake issue: there's a proper way to bleed our system. Its not like alot of other cars. Air can be trapped in the abs controller so car should be driven and two hard stops made on open road from 25 mph and 45 respectively to actuate abs and bleed air from the controller. This info can be found on here also. OEM rotors and pads are crap and you said you replaced them. What brand did you use?

Welcome to Acurazine.

Check your axles & engine mounts first...even your throttle cable. Doubt anything's wrong with your wheel speed sensors assuming your ABS/VSA warning lights aren't illuminated (...of course assuming that they initially come on & go off after you start the car).
